The University of Warsaw is honoured to invite you to take part in the 4th International DELab UW Conference "Rethinking Digitalisation of Economies and Societies".
We invite academics, researchers, PhD candidates, policy-makers, journalists, activists and students from different disciplines to come and discover the newest research achievements in the area of digital economy and society of, among others, NESTA, University of Warsaw, European Humanities University (Vilnius), Warsaw School of Economics, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Jagiellonian University (Cracow) and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
The Conference will consist of four panels:
Rethinking Digital Society: How do the mouse and the phone become more convergent?
The panel will focus on the new opportunities and social challenges in the digital era. The participants will debate on such subjects as impact of digitisation on cities, non-monetary exchanges and the service expansion of the informational capitalism.
Rethinking Digital Education and Culture: Do you know whom the revenues from the music platform-industry are streaming to?
The panel will provide insights into the changing expectations concerning education, digital information literacy, the processes of digitisation of art, and the ongoing revolution in business models which use copyrights protected works.
Rethinking Digital Economy: Does platform economy lead to precarisation of work?
The presenters at the panel will introduce novel research findings regarding new business models, platform economics, blockchain and such heated debates as privacy or the regulatory framework for Uber.
Rethinking Policy and Politics: Who should be held responsible for deaths caused by the drone warfare?
The panel will focus on the regulatory and ethical challenges of the digital economy including, among others, social and legal implications of revenge pornography and fake pornography, challenges posed to the fundamental rights by the automated borders, and selected regulatory deficiencies.
